Pick ‘em Poker

If you’re a seasoned poker player, you’ll reach a stage where single hand games simply don’t cut it anymore. You need a fresh challenge and that’s when games likePick ‘em Poker by Playtechprove their worth. As a multi-hand game, this is a poker title that lets you up the excitement by upping the number of hands in play at any given time. Playtech are best known for their online slots, a genre which they’ve mastered and continue to excel at.

Their foray into online poker games has been a successful one though, for each title is replete with the sort of clean graphics and typefaces that characterise their slots. There are a lot of poker games that play well but don’t look pretty: Playtech’s Pick ‘em Poker looks the part and has all the functionality built in. How many hands is too many to handle? By default there are 10 hands in contention, bit if you wanna run wild, you can play with as many as 100 hands at a time. Good luck keeping track of all that.

Alternatively, you’ve got the option of playing just one hand at a time until you get more confident at dealing with multiple games simultaneously. The first thing you’ll want to do is set your bet per game, which can range between 0.01 and 0.5. This means that the most you’ll wager per game is 5 credits. There’s a Bet Max button provided for convenience. This is all with the bet level at 1 though; when you up things to the maximum of 5, you’ll now be able to wager 25 coins per game.

Pick Your Level

As you up the bet level, you’ll notice the values of the hands displayed in the paytable, positioned to the bottom right of the screen, also going up in value. On the highest setting, you’ll earn 10x your bet for 9s or higher, 15 for Two Pair and 25 for 3 of a Kind. A straight comes in at 55 and a Flush at 75. That just leaves a Full House at 90, 4 of a Kind at 600, Straight Flush at 1199 and Royal Flush at 6000.

In addition to the buttons below the table which are lit up by default, you’ll also spot another button entitled Gamble. It’s unlit initially but once yourecord a win it will come to life, giving you the option of gambling to further boost your winnings. A paytablebutton to the top right of the screen provides full information on the value of the available wins for recording various multi-hand combos.

Customise Your Game

Like any good online poker game, Pick ‘em Poker allows punters to make all sorts of customisations to their setup. You can play just how you like, with an options menu that includes the ability to disable warning messages and the intro video. Click through to the Game Settings tab and you’ll find even more options to agonise over. When it comes to audio settings, you’re similarly blessed; adjust the volume of the audio and choose whether or not to have the dealer’s voice active.

When you’re ready to play, having set your bet and chosen the number of hands, you should click on the yellow Deal button. A rapid animation will fill the screen with hands of cards. If you’ve chosen 10 hands for example then two of these will be displayed in the centre, with the remaining 8 minimised and displayed above. Pick a stack and cards will automatically be dealt to all of the hands you have active. You’ll instantly learn whether you’ve won or lost and naturally it’s possible to win with multiple hands in one go – that’s how multi-hand poker works. You can collect your winnings at this stage or proceed to the card gamble where you can select Double or Double Half. The dealer’s card will be drawn and then you’ll need to click to reveal yours. The remaining three cards will then be revealed and the best hand wins.

Pick ‘Em Poker Conclusion

Pick ‘em Poker is one of many online casino games Playtech have released in recent years based around poker. It’s one of their best looking efforts, with graphics, typography and animations that are all highly impressive. The only drawback to this game is that, since it’s reliant on Flash, it’s not truly mobile-compatible. The game does load in the Chrome browser though, so Android users may find that they can access Pick ‘em Poker. If you’re tiring of playing single-hand poker and are ready to take things to the next level, Pick ‘em Poker should be top of your to-play list.
