Online sports betting products will be offered and guests can avail themselves of over-the-counter wagering and self-serve kiosks. Luxury seating and a state-of-the-art video wall will also come as standard, according to an official release.
“We’re excited to work with Betfred, one of the leading Sportsbook operators in the UK and Europe,” said Aviram Alroy, vice president of interactive gaming at Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment (MGE).
First time on a Vegas stage
The Virgin Hotels Las Vegas location represents the first retail presence in Vegas for both Betfred USA Sports and the MGE brand. The disclosure of the partnership follows the July 1 unveiling of the Mohegan Sun Casino’s corporate branding for its inaugural Las Vegas location.
“Our affiliation will introduce new and attractive competition to the Las Vegas market. Betfred will create a seamless and best-in-class experience on our gaming floor, which will cater to both domestic and international visitors,” Alroy added.
first tribal casino brand to enter the Las Vegas market
The Mohegan Sun Casino at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas will be the first tribal casino brand to enter the Las Vegas market. It is in the process of an eight-month renovation project, with the “re-imagined Las Vegas lifestyle casino resort” expected to open its doors this fall, subject to regulatory approvals.
Betfred Group’s chief operating officer, Mark Stebbings, expressed confidence that the collaboration with the two “outstanding operators” would mark a successful “first foray into the Las Vegas Sportsbook market.”
Betfred’s US blitz rolls on
The Vegas sportsbook presence gives Betfred USA Sports, the US subsidiary of UK-based Betfred Group, a fourth American state to add to its conquests. The operator’s Sin City premiere follows its January 2020 launch at Iowa’s Grand Falls Casino and Colorado debut at the Saratoga Casino in Black Hawk last month. Betfred USA Sports is also licensed to operate out of Wind Creek Casino and Resort Bethlehem in Pennsylvania.
With Las Vegas now on board, Betfred USA Sports COO Bryan Bennett has achieved his target of getting sportsbooks in four US states by the end of 2020. “Through our shared expertise, we will be offering a top class service for sports bettors in the entertainment capital of the world,” said Stebbings of Betfred’s Vegas win.
